The superhero movie Black Panther, released in 2018, is based on the same-named Marvel Comics character. It is the 18th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), which is made by Marvel Studios and released by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Chadwick Boseman plays T'Challa/Black Panther alongside Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Sterling K. Brown, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis in the movie, which was directed by Ryan Coogler and co-written by Joe Robert Cole. Following the passing of his father, T'Challa is proclaimed king of Wakanda in Black Panther, but Killmonger (Jordan) challenges him because he wants to end the nation's isolationist policies and start a world revolution.

The Plot

Five African tribes engaged in conflict over a meteorite containing the element vibranium thousands of years ago. The first "Black Panther" is a warrior who consumes a "heart-shaped herb" that has been tainted by the metal and obtains superhuman skills. With the exception of the Jabari Tribe, he gathers all to create Wakanda. The Wakandans have been using vibranium for generations to create cutting-edge technology while separating themselves from the outside world by pretending to be a Third World nation. 1992 finds the Wakandan king T'Chaka traveling to Oakland, California to see his undercover brother N'Jobu. N'Jobu is charged by T'Chaka with helping Ulysses Klaue, a black market armaments dealer, steal vibranium from Wakanda. When N'Jobu's colleague identifies himself as Zuri, another Wakandan spy, he confirms T'Chaka's suspicions.
